Welcome to Ferns & District Game Protection Association

Ferns & District Game Protection Association (Ferns GPA) was formed on the 01/07/1963 at a meeting held in the Castle Cinema (now the Community Centre) in Ferns.

It is an affiliated club to the National Association of Regional Game Councils (NARGC)which was founded in 1968 and is the largest voluntary organisation in Ireland involved in game shooting and conservation. The Ferns GPA club has grown steadily since its formation and it now has over 90 affiliated members making it one of the largest GPA clubs in the country.

Ferns GPA want to congratulate our club member Niamh Murphy on winning the Irish Open Senior Ladies Competition held at the Esker shooting grounds over two days, 24th and 25th of August. Niamh also won her class at the event.This is a massive achievement in Niamh’s first year competing at this level. Well done Niamh!

Ferns GPA would like to invite all members and anyone that would like to come to the Courtyard on Friday the 6th of September at 7.30pm for the presentation of the money raised at the Teddy Sinnott Memorial shoot to our two worthy charities - The Irish Cancer Society and the Wexford Hospice Homecare. It would be great to see a big turn out on the evening. I think that you will all be very impressed to see what you have helped us raise. Ferns GPA cannot thank you all enough for your continued support.

2019 Ferns GPA AGM was held on Wednesday March 27th in Ferns Community Centre at 8pm.

Ferns GPA would like to congratulate all of the individuals that were honoured on October 7th 2018 by Wexford NARGC for there long service to their clubs and also to the NARGC. 

We especially would like to congratulate and thank the five Ferns Members (Lockie Murphy, Tommy Murphy, Donal Behan, Pat Bolger and Tom Guinan) for all they have done over the past 55 years to make Ferns GPA one of the strongest and best clubs in the country.  It is a real honour to have you members of our great club.

Pheasants

Ferns GPA purchase and breed birds for re-population of the club grounds.

Dog Trials

The club holds it's annual dog trial on the last sunday before the shooting season on November 1st. Our first trophy was presented to the club by James O'Neill in 1982 and was awarded to the pointer section.
